If you grew up in Calgary you probably have some sort of memory of Camp Chief Hector. The place is a fixture of childhood for many an outdoorsy child in Calgary.
One memory very few people have is getting to go to a wedding there.
I have been a wedding photographer in Calgary for over 8 years now and I didn't even know that this was possible!
Camp Chief Hector couldn't have been a more fitting spot for the wedding of Charlotte and Ryan! They are such an adventurous, outdoor-loving, laid-back couple that having their wedding day anywhere other than a summer camp surrounded by mountains almost seems wrong!
For Charlotte and Ryan's engagement session we went to Elbow Falls and they didn't hesitate for a second to go anywhere and everywhere around the falls. So I knew they'd be up for anything, but wedding formal wear doesn't always allow for trekking around, but luckily Charlotte and Ryan stayed true to their personalities and had hiking boots on and Charlotte's dress, (which she made herself!) was light enough to go anywhere around the camp.
I had such a fun time photographing this wedding from the bustling cabin filled with family getting ready in the morning to their hilarious, energetic first dance at night!
This was a great first for me and I hope it's not the last wedding I get to photograph at this beautiful spot with people this fantastic!
Here are a few favourite's from Charlotte & Ryan's Camp Themed Fall Wedding.
