If you have never eaten at Teatro restaurant do yourself a favour and go there. Go now, I'll wait...
Okay now that you are back can you imagine having your wedding there? It's pretty awesome. I love it as a photographer, not just because I get to eat some of the food, but because it's a beautiful classic space right in the middle of downtown Calgary.
That means for me awesome spots to go for portraits within walking distance and a beautiful location for reception photos that has a feel that is somehow both modern and Roaring 20s rolled up into one.
One thing that a lot of people don't know about is that in addition to the large main dining room there is a small space that is available for Weddings called the Opera Room. This is perfect for intimate weddings and can fit some smaller budgets while still getting an impressive, beautiful space with top of the line food.
There is a private entrance to the totally separate Opera room so there is no concern about noise from the main restaurant and there is still high ceilings and a private bar!
Plus you can walk to Stephen Avenue, Olympic Plaza, The Bow Tower or a number of downtown Calgary's other phenomenal photo spots. Not to mention that the beautiful building, built in 1911 that houses Teatro. You can even sometimes go down into the wine cellar for a cool location you won’t get many other places. As long as you don't bump one of the racks filled with thousands of dollars or wine!
